About MeI love to cook. My first childhood memory is of sitting on my grandmother's wood block kitchen counter, helping her make chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. The experience impacted me in such a profound way that even today I'm amazed at times by how strongly I'm connected to the kitchen. Once I began to realize how enjoyable and soothing it is for me to be in the kitchen, I experimented with various recipes and methods, focusing primarily on the traditional ways. Comfort foods, canning, pantry staples, menu planning - there wasn't a single aspect of a traditional kitchen that I didn't enjoy.
I've managed my own kitchen much the same as my grandmother and those before her did for many years, now. I've created recipes along my journey, of course, but the generational foods of times long ago are still my mainstay. One of my two passions that I dearly love to share with others. If there's anything you'd like to see in upcoming blog posts, or if you have any questions pertaining to any of the recipes on this site, please feel free to use the contact form to leave me a message! I love feedback, glowing or otherwise. |
